So, I have passed this little fire hydrant every single day since I came to Western. It’s at the corner of the Miller Plaza between the theater building and the one building I’ve had classes in every semester. Does that mean I noticed it before today? No. In fact, when I did notice it, I got really confused, thinking they must have just installed it, I couldn’t possibly have missed it every day for a year, right? Guess not…

Drove past this tree leaving the engineering campus today. Looking out my window, a backdrop of industrial buildings made of concrete and glass, and dead bushes and brush, and then there’s this tree. It was just so starkly opposed to the landscape, rebellious. Reminded me of my self. And my mom. And my redhead Mémé.
